One of the joys about being a writer is seeing how readers interpret the characters and the world you build. I thought this would be a great chance to show off some of the iterations of some of the main characters, starting with the one who drives much of the story, which is of course, Kestrel.
This particular piece of fan art was done by Claire Paffey following the original version of The Moonhollow Origins back in 2015. The reason why this is an important distinction is because in the original story, there was no real exploration of different cultures and ethnicities within the world. Now, with the new release of the book, Kestrel and his mother, Lorena, are considered to be Fenrosta, a persecuted underclass in Ninehook City, with features inspired from Latin and Mediterranean cultures.
